Image File Formats

There are many different types of image file formats but, only 3 can effectively used for website design. Only JPEG, GIF or PNG files can be used in website design because these are the only ones that are viewable in web browsers like Internet Explorer or Firefox. These image files display in different ways depending on how they are needed. Here are the differences.

Website Images: Copyright Laws & Using Illegal Images

Finding images to use on your website is not as easy as you may think. As with music, images are protected by law and unless you have the correct licenses or permissions, arbitrary downloading is illegal. Using images, especially stock images or vector graphics, can be confusing issue.

The good news is if you know the laws and the terminology, there is a way to have images on your website by either purchasing the correct ones or using a photographer.

The task of designing a website, or having one made, can seem overwhelming. However, a lot of the work takes place before the designer clicks a mouse or a contract is signed. Having a plan in place makes the process a lot easier. This takes a little research by the client or designer if they have been tasked with this. The following are a few steps to narrow the project’s focus. These steps can be followed by the client or the designer however, it is best that the client follow these steps. In the end, the choice is there’s and they must be happy with it.
